Alive:
Just To Show You How To Die The Right Way
By Patrick O'Leary
Am I just here breathing in
All of these tortured screams
Right after they seem to die
Should I leave my vacant stream?
Is it my fault that your brother died?
Is it my own fault that I have lied?
Would you do anything about it?
Or am I just alive to show you how to hate?
Is it all our founding fathers faults
That their country lay here in ruin
Just because the teachers never taught
This country lies here in vain
Will you stop this from happening?
We’d better start forming
The ranks are falling
Our hopes all seem to be fading
You seem to always ask why I live
Why I never took the pointless dive
The reason why I’m here you say,
“Just because I’m here to show you how to die the right way.”
Lives were never meant to be born to hate one another
So why do we sit here in pity of ourselves
Hate is what destroys each other
Can’t you all seem to put the hate on your shelves?
That seem to be overflowing with your money
Or am I just here to show you how to die…the wrong way
Should I sit here in my vacant stream?
Listen to your hollow screams?
When you dismissed me so many times before
Why do you want me so bad this very hour?
I thought I was just here for you to hate
I’d never realize this would be your fate
So, friend, am I hated?
Or am I loved?
I’m just here to say
I’m alive to show you how to die, the right way
