In Your Midst, My Shadow Fades

by Patrick O'Leary, Toledo OH

We'll all stand in our misery
Will it be considered a faltered treachery?
But we will all know you're strong
We'll plead it to be wrong
But you know it'll be alright
Don't let it out of our sight
This hollow room echoes my name
It feels so lame
I'm strong
But yet I'm wrong
Look over my shoulder
To see if you've grown older
But you're not there
These silent voices have faded
Even the shadows seem slanted
Look across a stagnate room
Feeling it's gloom
Feeling strong
Feeling wrong
The still small sweet voice
Enters at it's own choice
It's whispering and pleading to be strong
How can I not feel so wrong?
I turn forward to see if You're there
Even though I know you're here
You've broken my silence
Like some unknown science
O it's been oh so long ago
Since I've felt strong
Or have felt wrong
