Oblivion
by Patrick O'Leary, Toledo OH
Let's all reach for an unending path
A narrowed road
Sing a song and ring the gong, blow it all away
to Oblivion
Run and stumble toward a light, take the next flight to find it disappear, the chance is gone, open a door, lay down a wrong path like a back draft we reenact toward this revolution, step forward and be prepared
Why so shocked?, it's been locked down by our will
See a splendor we call glass, a controlled flash across the lands, and yet we walk by aimlessly
A remarkable discovery wasted, only to follow after
Lust and Love, Love and Lust, we'll blow it all to Oblivion
Let us be blown away, we might cry for a better day, take us now
Rush toward the goal, carpe diem and rejoice in blind calamity
Gain the strength to scream, to rebel, only to be swept away like the rest
by an Oblivion
'Tis a new tradition, well I'll rendition
That fact, we'll act only to playback our memories
Our days are numbered, we'll stumble and fall and call Your name
before the Oblivion ceases
